Lorelai wanted to draw a picture for baby Lex. She took out her red crayon and white paper, drew a flower and a picture of our family (just like Daniel Tiger does the week before his baby sister Margret is born in Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood). Lorelai asked us to hang it on the wall for the baby but also wanted to keep adding more things to the picture. One of her adorable requests was that Mama help her draw Lorelai holding her baby brother in the picture. She is ready for the new addition to our family.

Happy birthday, cousin Dylan! Aunt Cait had a party at Nana's house with a slip 'n slide and mini pool to celebrate. This was Lorelai's first outdoor water-play experience so she was a little nervous in the beginning. Lucas held her hand and helped her run thru the sprinklers the first few times. After a little bit, Lorelai was very enthusiastic about playing in the water with cousins.

We went on some big adventures today. Lorelai and Daddy went to the hospital so Mama could check on baby Lex. For the moment, he is facing the right way but apparently with baby brother, that can change at any moment.
Since we were already on campus, Lorelai guided us to the cardiac wing to visit Nana in her room. Nana has been here for a few days but should be leaving this evening to go home with Pop-pop! Her room was very fancy-- Lorelai loved with window, space, and gadgets.

Text from Daddy with picture at 10:11am: "Guess who held their pee all night and then went on he potty chair."
Reply from Mommy at 10:11am: " My big girl! Oh I'm soooooooo proud of you sweetie!! (with a picture of Mama blowing kisses) Kisses! Good job. Enjoy your Cinderella!"
Reply from Lorelai at 10:13am (via Daddy's text message): "Mommy so silly."

Text from Daddy at 10:35am: "We were talking about Lorelai blanket with her name on it. I asked her if she knew what it said and she said 'it says mommy loves you'."

Lorelai has a wonderful imagination. She loves to whooosh and fly whenever possible. Now that she and baby brother had matching Flyers capes, I am certain that she will be teaching Lex how to fly ASAP.

Lorelai went to Gigi's house this afternoon for lunch. She was all too excited to play outside with the new bubble toys Gigi got for her. Lorelai is a very fierce play-er. She is making that bubble gun go extra hard with the volume of enthusiasm she has behind the trigger!

Mama went to a Jamberry party this afternoon so Lorelai and Daddy played the day away. Lorelai got up earlier than normal but after a surprise nap, had a lovely day of giggles and pretend. Naps are so rare these days that they only seem to arrive by surprise.

Text message from Daddy at 2:14pm: "Looks like she cried herself into a nap."

Lorelai made her first candy necklace today at a Wawa BBQ. She was able to put the food on the plastic needle, carefully aiming for the hole in the center-- so proud! Lorelai was overjoyed to find the cereal and candy that we strung together went around her neck and she could eat it right off the string.

Now that she is in her big girl bed, Lorelai has been waking up earlier than before by at least two hours. The adjustment has been a little hard so she knocked off for a quick nap on the couch, snuggling her new Lambie as a make-shift pillow.

Oh, Big Girl! Tonight Lorelai slept in her big girl bed for the very first time. She was so excited when she saw it-- wanted to get in right away. As we were tucking her in, we snapped a few shots. Daddy said "pretend you are sleeping!" and Lorelai gave this big grin, nestled in with her favorite stuffed animals.
In fact, she did alot of big girl things today-- she also peed in the potty again! Yay for Lorelai!

Lorelai's head can be turned by a bit of candy. When Mama came home yesterday, she gave Lorelai to orange Tic-Tacs. Now whenever Mama comes in the door, Lorelai puts on her charm and asks if there are Tic-Tacs in Mama's hands. She holds them and takes a few hours to savor the idea of candy that is all hers.

Like the beautiful tyrant that she is, Lorelai commanded a dance party tonight while listening to Daniel Tiger songs on her iPad.

While cleaning out some of Mama's college things, we came across this head set with a microphone. Lorelai had a wonderful time singing to herself thru the headset and dancing around the room. She was singing... you guessed it-- Frozen.

Lorelai sometimes likes to pretend that she is a scarey ghost when Mama gets home. She is not a fan of people guessing Lorelai is under the purple blanket prior to her revealing herself.

We went to Gigi's house tonight for dinner and were surprised with presents for baby brother and Sunshine! The girls had a wonderful time climbing on Uncle Spike and treating him like a horsey. Lorelai helped open gifts for the new baby and she approved of each of them. She asked when her friend would be coming home... The baby is almost here!

Doesn't she look like a teen here? Curled up on the couch, pensively playing with a cell phone. Our little girl is growing up so fast and every day. It is happening too fast!

A special present came in the mail today for Lorelai. Mama won a custom cape from a contest on Facebook. Mama choose to have a Flyer's cape made for Lorelai and the shop was so nice-- they sent one for Baby Brother as well! Lorelai had a great time practicing holding the baby (doll substitute) wearing his matching Flyer's hockey cape! They flew around and around -- whoooosh, whooooosssshhhh.

Lorelai is not always a fan of getting her picture taken-- she certainly needs to be in the mood to participate.

Lorelai came across a pair of 3D glasses that she insisted she wear while using her iPad. Lorelai looks very astute in her glasses... and will probably need a pair before she is in high school if she follows in Mama and Daddy's footsteps. Sorry, love!

Lorelai spent the afternoon with Aunt Mo, Uncle Frank, and her cousins Chris and Dylan today while Mama and Daddy got the house ready for baby brother.
Lorelai had her first swim in a big pool at Frank's house and she completely loved it. She got to ride a dragon and splash. Then they went to play at the park followed by dinner at Pop pop's house. Surely one of the most exciting days she has had in a while.

Today, PBS aired episodes where Daniel Tiger gets a new baby sister! Just in time, PBS! Thanks for broaching the topic of sharing, taking turns, and getting ready to share Mama and Daddy with a new family member that we all love.

Lorelai is the star of any Acme trip. She has a great enthusiasm for shopping trips and loves when the cashiers load her up with stickers. They rarely stay on the paper for very long-- she is covered in them.

Lorelai has a bunny that teaches her about using things like buttons, ties, and snaps. The tail spins and as you turn it, producing a clicking sound.

Lorelai has declared that when the tail moves, the bunny is farting. It is the funniest thing she has ever heard in her life.

Lorelai does what she wants-- I think we all know that by now. Daddy had been working on his computer when Lorelai climbed up on to his lap and set her self up for maximum comfort... even though that meant that Daddy couldn't reach his computer anymore.

The Gallagher's had a special picture taken today for Nana and Pop pop since it is the last day that Uncle Pat will be in town and their anniversary is tomorrow. Lorelai came to the mall and played with Chris, Daddy, and Frank while they took the pictures.
We'll all miss Uncle Pat when he goes back to Arkansas.

All of the cousins were together for dinner at Pop pop and Nana's house tonight. We had a birthday cake for Uncle Pat and all wished him a safe trip home. He will be leaving in two days.

We went to Pop pop and Eva's house today to see our family. Almost everyone was able to make it. Lorelai was especially excited to see Gavin! Lorelai always has a great time playing with Gavin. He is fun, likes to share, and listens to Gigi just like Lorelai.

We went to the D'Orazio's house tonight to watch Sharknado 2. Lorelai was very excited to spend the night playing with her cousins Lucas and Jacob. She had pizza and a dance party... and together they played with Play-dough. Lorelai apparently is a huge fan of Play-dough and only gets to see it at her Aunt's homes. Playing with cousins is the best!!
